How much is that doggie in the window?

The sad truth of puppy mills
This clip opens your eyes to the cruel treatment and dire conditions of dogs at puppy mills. Have you ever thought where your cute puppy came from? Are you supporting such treatment of your loyal friends? You never know, unless you trace your breeder and high chances are, your cute puppy (mine included)’s parents have been manipulated for such purposes and left behind in torturous death.

“If the dogs can no longer breed, then they are very often killed with a metal object beaten against their head. No health care, never enough food, and no medical care, these dogs live in a wire crate their whole life with no socialization, and never able to enjoy the grass and walking. This is no way to live. To stop Puppies Mills, don’t buy puppies at Pet Stores. “

You would never really know it, until you see it for yourself – the fate of stray dogs and abandoned dogs
See the passing of one through Euthanasia, gas chamber poisoning, canine poisoning and worst of all, just treated as and grinded into waste/ trash.

This is a 3-part on Oprah Winfrey show in an attempt to expose the misdeeds and  sad conditions of puppy mills that are sprang up in various parts of U.S. with only one motive in mind – to breed puppies for profit.

If you are considering to get a dog, check and trace the breeder and its reputation. If you can adopt, do so.
We got Tobie from a ‘famous’ dog farm at Pasir Ris. Whilst it is not a puppy mill and you only see cute puppies, they are similarly cramped together in a cage and the place smells foul. Given a choice and had I know better, I would not support them and condone such cruelty.

Think twice & check before you purchase.
Otherwise, adopt!

Get well soon, Tobie

It had been a wild weekend.. Tobie is sick and warded him at the vet, on IV drip. Brought him to a vet at Balestier late thurs nite and he just couldn’t get well on friday, vomiting and diarrhoea. Everything he ate/ drank came out and eventually he just couldn’t eat at all. Then warded him on Friday nite at The Joyous Vet at Sunshine Plaza where he was diagnosed for flagellates.. and went to see him awhile ago. He is eating and vomiting stopped though still diarrhoea and flu. He looked so weak and sick. Fortunately he was tested negative for parvo, corona and distemper viruses. Hoping the best for him and see him healthy and playful back again.

Get well soon!

Edt: Got a call from the vet updating on Tobie condition. He is well but will take some time before he recuperate and get active again because she said he had actually been “weak” for quite some time. Suspecting Pet Movers’ reputation as read about online and how they under-care for the pups on the farm. Hope Tobie get become stronger and grow up healthy and well!

Tobie

Tobie is his name, though he doesn’t always respond to it as yet.
(Variation of spelling for ‘Toby”, though I’d like to think of him as ‘tolbie’ – short form for Tolberone chocs)
Born on 12 December 2008 and brought home on 1st Mar 2009, he is going to be 3 months old next Thursday.

When we brought him home, he was still depressed because his brother had been bought by someone the day before. Now he barks and wags his tail at us when we come home, and is beginning to do his business at his designated .

Quiet and non-assuming in nature, he is still a small boy. Stubborn and blur at times, affectionate and seeking attention at others. He just wants to have company and be loved. When he is scolded for his bad behaviour by dear, he looks back with his soulful eyes, hangs his head low and then sits solemnly at a corner.

And here is our dearie Tobie at 2mths+
